News, updates, and ways to stay connected

Our Leaders in Training (LIT) program has been an important part of developing young leaders at Lake Beauty for years. This summer, 20 campers participated in LIT, and we're seeing the lasting impact of that investment. In fact, 31 of the 37 people hired for 2026 summer staff had previously participated in LIT!
As we look ahead to summer 2027, we're excited to expand LIT and create more opportunities for students to grow in their faith and leadership. For years, we've heard LIT campers ask, "Can I do LIT again?" We love their desire to keep growing and are excited to offer a new opportunity to take that next step.
LIT is an application-only program that develops high school students as disciples of Jesus and equips them to serve and lead in their homes, churches, schools, and communities. Beginning in 2027, the program will have two levels:
| | |
LIT 1A & 1B
Formation and Service
LIT 1 continues Lake Beauty's two-week experience, still offered in two sessions. Open to students who have completed grades 9–12, the program introduces spiritual formation, biblical understanding, and servant leadership through workshops, Bible studies, team building, service projects, and hands-on ministry.
| | | |
LIT 2
Leadership and Ministry
Students who have completed LIT 1A or 1B can apply for LIT 2, an opportunity to take the next step in leadership development. Students will grow in studying and communicating Scripture, discipling and caring for others, and leading ministry through mentorship and practical experience.
| | | |
For many students, LIT is a natural pathway to serving on Lake Beauty's summer staff. Whether they serve at Lake Beauty, pursue vocational ministry, or lead in their own communities, our hope is to equip them to faithfully follow Jesus and help others do the same.
Applications for the 2027 LIT program opened November 1! Visit our website to learn more and apply.

Meet Nathan,
Lake Beauty’s Properties Director!
Nathan came to Lake Beauty with a heart for serving others and a desire to put his many skills to work where they are needed most. He loves being able to use his hands-on experience to care for camp, while also embracing new opportunities to grow as a leader. Nathan believes that when we say yes to God, He equips us for the work ahead—even when it takes us into unfamiliar territory! As Properties Director, Nathan hopes to make Lake Beauty feel like a home away from home, creating a safe, welcoming environment where guests can set aside distractions and focus on Christ. He is grateful to be part of a team that shares in this mission, knowing that it is ultimately Christ who does the work through each of us.

Meet Charlie,
Lake Beauty’s Food Service Manager!
After two years of praying about what was next, Charlie was surprised to discover that Lake Beauty was exactly where God was leading him. With more than 20 years of food service experience, Charlie is excited to bring his two biggest passions—food and fellowship—together in a ministry where faith comes first. His own journey has taught him a lot about God’s patience, grace, and faithful love, and he hopes to share that same grace with everyone he meets. As a proud Midwestern boy, Charlie believes good food brings people together, so you can expect plenty of comfort food with a “don’t ya know” vibe! Above all, he hopes every guest leaves the dining hall with a full belly, a warm welcome, and a glimpse of the love of Jesus through the people serving them.

Meet Karla,
Lake Beauty’s Housekeeping & Food Service Team Member!
Karla’s journey to Lake Beauty has been unfolding over the past 10+ years, through what she calls little “nudges” from God that eventually became a clear invitation to join the camp team. With experience in both food service and housekeeping, Karla is excited to use her skills in familiar ways while making room for something new: building relationships and seeing where God leads. She has already been encouraged by the beauty of camp, the friendships forming among coworkers, and the way faith and prayer are woven into everyday life here. Karla hopes every guest feels comfortable, cared for, and welcomed during their stay, with space to slow down, experience God’s presence, and grow in their relationship with Him.
