Thank you for spending your Halloween with us! We had so much fun seeing all of your costumes! |
Wow! What a great turn-out at the Somerset 106 drive-thru trick-or-treat! Greg Moore turned the tunes on Somerset 106 to your Official Halloween Station Music and we loved hearing you listening to it in your vehicles! Plus we saw so many amazing costumes! We gave away 190 goodie bags from the Somerset Asian Market by 7:30PM! But we had so much more candy to give away and we opened at least 30 more bags of candy for you!
Thank you to Somerset Asian Market for the goodie bags, Spirit Halloween for some of the decorations, the Mum and Pumpkin Patch for the beautiful mums and pumpkins, the Pulaski County Recycling Center for the use of the safety cones for the driveway, and New Horizon Graphics for the Enter/Exit signs! Amazing things can happen with a little help from our community of friends! See you next year!

October 6th - Matthew Douglas Simpson Interview on The Set List with Kate Smith and guest co-host Kevin Dalton
Matthew Douglas Simpson, originally from Cynthiana, Kentucky joined Kate and guest co-host, Kevin Dalton in the Somerset 106 studio to share his original music and share his story with us. What started it all? Gospel music and a Bon Jovi cassette! He even wrote and performed a song that was pitched to Disney several years ago.
Now he performs all over Kentucky and is a worship minister at his home church in Cynthiana. He performed several songs for us including "Truth, Love, and Oxycontin" a hard hitting song about a husband trying to understand his wife's addiction and "Call Me When You Get Home" referring to something his late Mama used to say to him.

CCV Founder Virginia Dial and local businessman and Army veteran Jon Roberts joined us on the show. Jon talked about how hard the transition can be from military life to civilian life and how CCV can give certain veterans a place to not only live, but to also connect with each other and just talk. Thank you, Jon and Virginia!
October 20th - Cody Lee Meece Interview on The Set List with Kate Smith and guest co-host Tammy Lewis
An amazing interview with the legendary Cody Lee Meece! Or is it just…Legendary Lee Meece (IYKYK…and if you wanna know…listen to the full interview linked below.). Thank you, Cody for sharing your story of adversity and addiction with such grace and humility. You are helping so many with your songwriting and honesty. Thank you to Tammy Lewis for being an awesome co-host!
In the full interview, you'll hear how Cody's musical roots started out with a cardboard cut-out of a guitar that his Grandpa made him and a Lynyrd Skynyrd cassette. As a teen and early 20-something, Cody was a "Blues Man." Now his sound and style are more fitting of a mix between southern rock and country. Though he did perform a throwback blues song for us called "I Shot My Baby." His personal life experiences and growth have given him lyrics that are relatable, intimate and vulnerable. Cody definitely didn't shy away from sharing his personal story of adversity and addiction and how far he has come.
Cody has won several Appalachian Arts and Entertainment awards over the years with his most recent being with his band, The Poor Excuses, for "Best Country."
