Giving Tuesday is December 1:

Every Gift is an Act of Kindness That Makes a Difference!

Tips from Our Outpatient Therapy Clinic:

Staying Active as the Weather Changes

As temperatures drop and days grow shorter, it’s easy to spend more time indoors. Staying active, however, supports overall health, energy, and well-being at every age. Here are a few ways to keep moving during ‘cozy’ season:

· Explore indoor areas: Walk at a local mall, visit an indoor track, swim or try a fitness class

· Move at home: Dance to your favorite music, stretch or try some indoor games with family

· Enjoy milder days: Walk around campus or your neighborhood when weather permits. The sun feels warm on your face, even on a cold day!

· Stay connected: Visit community centers, libraries and recreation facilities to enjoy activities and socialize.

The upcoming holidays are also a good time to check in on older family members and friends. Notice changes in balance, mobility, memory or daily routines and approach concerns with compassion and support.

This November, make time for movement, prioritize connection and check in on those around you. Small actions can make a lasting difference in how we feel, function and enjoy life in every season!
