November Highlight: Gregg Bacchieri Dedication

Gregg Bacchieri, longtime supporter of the Boys & Girls Club, was honored at our Greater Newark Club as the basketball court and teen center were renamed to honor his legacy. The Greg Bacchieri Court and Bacchieri Family Teen Center will serve as a fitting way to honor an individual whose passion was to provide hope and opportunity for young people throughout Delaware. Gregg had a special affinity for the Greater Newark Boys & Girls Club and served two terms as Chair of the Newark board. He also served as a statewide board member for 28 years. Sadly, Gregg passed away in 2019 and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware hopes to establish a fund that will allow the great work that he began, to continue.

Program Feature: Goldey-Beacom College Planning

Our College Awareness and Planning Program (CAP) partnered with Goldey-Beacom College this past month to host a series of informational sessions for our teens about their college options. The events took place at our Clubs in Laurel, Seaford, Wilmington and Dover and had over 140 teens in attendance.

Club Activity: Lights on After School

Our Clubs once again participated in Lights on After School, a nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. Sites like our Smyrna Club put out activities and games for parents to connect with kids and spend time at the Club.
