Marty Wingate's First Edition Library Mysteries

Hayley Burke has landed a dream job at Middlebank House, a lovely Georgian home in Bath, England. She is curator of the late Lady Georgina Fowling's collection of first editions of women authors from the golden age of mystery. When the leader of a mystery writers' group is found in the library with his head bashed in, the police have no murder weapon and no clues. Inspired by Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, Hayley turns amateur sleuth. Though the crimes in this light-reading series may be a bit easy to solve, fans of British traditional mysteries will appreciate the references to the classics of the genre; golden age mystery lore make these genial novels fun. Start with The Bodies in the Library (#1) and then read Murder is a Must (#2) and The Librarian Always Rings Twice (new).
