We are partnering with The Nature Conservancy and Jackalope Brewing Company for the 2nd OktoberForest Invasive Plant Removal Day on Sunday, October 29th.  The removal will go from 9:00 - 11:30am, so wear something you don't mind getting dirty, don some sturdy shoes, and dress warmly. Lunch will be provided by  Nashville Pizza Co. , and a pint of Jackalope beer (ages 21+ only) after the clean-up. 

Participation is free, but registration is required. Space is limited.
We still have a few openings for the 2017 Enchanted Forest Adventure this Saturday - it is RAIN OR SHINE, so come on out!

There are only TWO more  Fall Color Hikes on Tuesdays at 9:30am led by our fabulous volunteer team - Denis Lovell and Richard Hitt.  

And let's not forget Owl Day! This year Owl Day will begin at 10am! Come enjoy "all things owl" - crafts, meet 'n' greet 3 of our resident owls, a guided hike and owl pellet dissection and discovery.  It's a day for all ages.

The Art Series at Owl's Hill has two full day classes in November:  Watercolor Basics led by Elizabeth Stanford and Rachael McCampbell will teach Acrylic Techniques in Still Life Painting.

And last, but NOT least - Mark your calendars for #GIVINGTUESDAY November 28th to support the many public and education programs, as well as the day to day mission and operations of Owl's Hill.

Enchanted Forest - Kids & Families

Cost:  $12 / person (Children 2 & Under FREE)

The woodlands of Owl's Hill will come alive once again with the Enchanted Forest, which will give families the opportunity to experience a trail adventure that's fun and educational--not scary. 

Enchanted Forest Adventure times:

Each Enchanted Forest Adventure includes:
* A guided walk to meet our costumed animal friends in the Enchanted Forest
* A hayride
* A live animal presentation
* Facepainting and warm apple cider with a snack at the pavilion

Children and adults are invited to get into the spirit of the season by wearing costumes. Pre-registration required. No refunds.

Knee-High Naturalists: In the Spirit of Giving - Parents & Kids Ages 3-5

Cost:  $10 one adult + one child ($12 at door) / $7 each additional person / 

In the "Spirit of Giving" children will discover what lessons we can learn from our animal friends and how to protect them and care for our planet earth.
Fall Color Hikes - Adults Only

Fall is upon us! This series of guided walks is just for adults and allows one to follow the progression of fall at Owl's Hill. Walks begin promptly at 9:30; reservations suggested. Cameras and binoculars welcome .

A celebration of all things owl at Owl's Hill Sanctuary! Meet our resident program owls and enjoy entertaining and informative talks on each species. Hike through owl territory, make owl pins and decorations, dissect owl pellets. Interesting and fun for all ages!

Watercolor Basics with Elizabeth Sanford - Adults Only

Learn the basics of watercolor in this workshop for beginners. Explore paint, paper and brush options, as well as the 3 main kinds of color mixing. Be inspired by the beauty of Owl's Hill as you experiment with fun and easy techniques to paint simple subjects. All supplies are provided. Learn more about the artist at

Acrylic Techniques in Still Life Painting with Rachael McCampbell- Adults Only

9:00am - 4:00pm
Cost:  $100 per person (bring your own lunch)

Golden Acrylics Certified teacher, Rachael McCampbell, will share the latest acrylic techniques and applications when painting a still-life for the day. The focus will be on composition, color mixing, painting techniques and learning new skills with acrylic paints. A still-life arrangement will be setup to paint or you can bring a photo of your own arrangement to paint. 

Supplies included: charcoal, water containers, table easels and some brushes. 

Students must bring: acrylic paint, canvas or panels to paint on, palettes and their favorite brushes and utensils. More details to follow once you've registered.
