Congratulations
Davenport Skip-a-Long!

We are excited and proud to announce that our Davenport Skip-a-Long Center has again achieved a Level 5 Rating on Iowa's Quality Rating System (QRS). This is the highest level a program can receive!

Iowa QRS is the statewide quality system for child care. It is a voluntary program that offers providers a way to improve the quality of care they provide. Rated programs must meet key indicators of quality in the areas of: professional development, health and safety, environment, family and community partnerships, and leadership and administration. Our QRS rating shows that our program has gone the extra mile to make sure your child receives an enhanced learning and care experience.

Help us in congratulating our staff for all of their hard work and determination - we would not have a high-quality program without our high-quality staff!

Health & Wellness: Outdoor Play in Colder Weather
Outdoor play is important to children's growth and development - even in colder weather! Going outside to run, jump, yell, and explore helps children with their large muscle development and is a good way to get out all their energy and get some fresh air.

Make it priority to make sure your child is able to play outside everyday - just make sure they dress for the occasion! Colder weather? Bundle up with a winter coat. Snow? Put on that snowsuit, gloves, hats, and scarves! Remember. "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing."

Happy Thanksgiving!
All Skip-a-Long campuses will be CLOSED on Thursday, November 26th and Friday, November 27th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!
Parenting during COVID-19
The World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) have released parenting resources for families during COVID-19. These evidence-informed resources were developed to help parents keep themselves, and their children safe, happy, and healthy during this stressful period.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by the pandemic, check out these Parent Tip Sheets for tips on managing stress and staying connected during COVID-19.

They also have a fun song to remind us to Slow Down - check out the video here!
SAL Family and Community Services is now hiring for several positions throughout the agency including site director, teachers, teaching assistants, and Child Care Assistance specialists.

If someone you know is passionate about helping children and families, they may be a great fit for our team!

Thank You for Supporting
