NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER
A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

The Library answered 475 reference questions in October and completed over 461 no-contact curbside pickups. Our procedure is to attempt to contact twice to schedule curbside pickup, and to schedule up to two pickup attempts. After two contact attempts or two no-shows, materials are returned so the next patron can use the items. Please be prompt in responding, picking up, and plan to pick up items at least once a week if you have a steady stream of hold requests. Thank you for helping us to streamline this process!

The Board of Library Trustees voted to waive fines for the duration of the pandemic! We will continue to waive them for past due items but by mid November, fines will only accrue for museum passes ($5 per day late fee) and equipment items such as the telescope.

November and December are Food for Fines months for the Library, so please use this opportunity to make a donation to the Grafton Food Bank in lieu of fines. They now distribute Stop and Shop Gift Cards, and need donations ASAP for the November 14 distribution.

Speaking of Stop and Shop, the Friends of the Library are benefitting from their shopping bag fundraiser! You can purchase a new reusable grocery bag or make a donation to the Friends right at the register.

Town Meeting was postponed and rescheduled to Saturday November 7 at 11:00am on the football field at Grafton High School. Warrant and details are online at https://www.grafton-ma.gov/select-board/pages/town-meeting-election-information

Finally, please don't forget to VOTE tomorrow, TUESDAY NOVEMBER 3! It was so nice to see some of you at the polls where I was pitching in to sanitize voting booths last week. If you missed dropping off your ballot or taking advantage of early voting, it's too late to put it in the mail, so please mask up and head to your polling location and VOTE. Voting is anonymous. Voting is your civic duty. We don't care how you vote, just VOTE!
