How important is thankfulness in the life of a believer? Thomas Merton once wrote, "To be grateful is to recognize the Love of God in everything He has given us - and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him. Gratitude therefore takes nothing for granted, is never unresponsive, is constantly awakening to new wonder and to praise of the goodness of God. For the grateful person knows that God is good, not by hearsay but by experience. And that is what makes all the difference.”

It may be that thankfulness is the womb in which humility grows. The world needs thankful followers of Jesus Christ, perhaps now more than ever. As we enter into the month of November, let us make it our aim to be thankful. Find new and fresh ways to express gratitude in your life. Look unto life with eyes of thanksgiving, knowing that grace is the currency of God’s kingdom. We tend to make things difficult, but the apostle Paul simplifies life for us. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV). Rejoice, Pray, and Give thanks!

Wednesday Night
Bible Study Lineup
Our regular Wednesday night Bible study goes deep into the story Exodus to examine key moments in the history of the nation of Israel, explore the life of Moses and His relationship with God as deliverer, and engage our own lives with the nature of God that is revealed in the Exodus story. The story of the Exodus is not just a story things that once happened. It is also a picture of the same God who loves us so much that He would do whatever it takes to offer salvation to His children. If you have ever wanted to go deep into the story of Israel and see how this story relates to being a people of God even today, then join us on Wednesday nights in the Sanctuary.
The next two generations have been described as "post-Christian." What does that mean for your child? How can you help your child stay strong in the faith and be an influence for Christ in this current culture and for years to come?  Learn practical ways to bring our children up "in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
Women: There are many reasons to worry. And one Reason not to. We live in a broken, sad, scary place. We don’t need to watch the natural disasters and political unrest in the news to know what our bodies already know. Our bodies get sick. Our minds are fragile. The mortality rate for humans is astonishingly high. There’s plenty to worry about, and the world is full of faulty solutions for our anxieties. But true peace comes when we learn to hold God’s Word up to what worries us. There, we learn we can’t fix ourselves; we can’t protect ourselves. Instead, the Bible tells us we can rest, knowing that Jesus walked into the broken, sad, scary places to rescue us and love us. He is the One who fixes. His is the only protection that matters.
