Honoring Paul Krause as President Emeritus of VegMichigan | | |
With great appreciation and respect, we are honored to recognize Paul Krause as President Emeritus of VegMichigan. Paul has been a cornerstone of our organization for over two decades, guiding VegMichigan through periods of growth, change, and success. From his time as President to his continued leadership as Vice President and Treasurer, Paul’s dedication to the mission of promoting a plant-based lifestyle has been unwavering. He has shown up not just in meetings and planning sessions, but on the ground—helping at events, mentoring team members, and contributing generously to our financial stability and outreach efforts.
| | The role of President Emeritus is not about looking backward—it’s about honoring a legacy while continuing to benefit from Paul’s insight and values. His depth of experience, historical knowledge, and passion for the cause make him a continued asset to our team. We are thrilled to formally recognize Paul’s lasting impact in this way, and we look forward to his continued involvement and guidance as VegMichigan evolves. Thank you, Paul, for everything you’ve done—and continue to do—for this organization and the state we serve. | | Thanksgiving Feast & Fundraiser | | Sunday, November 16, 2pm - 6pm | | |
VegMichigan is partnering with Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary to host a Thanksgiving Feast & Fundraiser to benefit both nonprofits. Vegano Italiano will be preparing a holiday plate for $20, which includes Salad Greens, Chili Maple Brussels Sprouts, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Vegan Meatloaf with Maple Glaze. Additional sides will be available for purchase. See the delicious menu here!
Meal purchases will be made at the event directly from Vegano Italiano, but get your entry tickets here. A suggested donation of $10 supports both organizations. Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary will offer guided tours of the sanctuary, giving guests the chance to meet the rescued rabbits and learn about the organization's work. Registrations and donations are also welcome at the door. Come hungry, bring friends, and enjoy a lovely afternoon while helping two great nonprofits! This is an outdoor event. Thanks for your support!

Since 1999, VegMichigan has been introducing Michiganders to the benefits of plant-based eating through a wide range of programs, including festivals, presentations, food tastings, community outreach, and our Plant-Based Pledge. We’re currently wrapping up an eight-month strategic planning course with Strategic Planning for Animal Activism, a comprehensive program that encouraged us to reexamine every aspect of our work with the goal of becoming an even more impactful organization. We look forward to sharing exciting updates to our programming in the coming months—stay tuned!
| | For the second year in a row, VegMichigan was invited to give a Plant-Based 101 presentation at the Robert J. Parks Library in Oscoda Township. The room was full, and attendees were interested to learn about the benefits of plant-based eating and to sample delicious plant-based food options. Thanks to our Northeast chapter leads for promoting the event, coordinating the catering, and volunteering during the program to meet individuals interested in staying involved with VegMichigan. The event was also covered by a reporter from the Iosco County News-Herald. Check out the article here. | |
