Elite Development League Update
The Fall Season has drawn to a close and we are now preparing our 'All Star' teams for their annual Winter tournament in La Jolla, December 1st and 2nd.

The final few game days of the Elite season ran smoothly with over 250 players (ages 6-12) competing on balanced teams. We do not keep team standings throughout the season as we focus on individual player development, however, we did wrap things up with an end-of-season tournament which took place on Sunday November 5th. This tournament style play-date is a great way to finish off the season in a competitive environment, where each age group ends up with a team champion.
Junior Development League News
The Junior Development League just wrapped up Fall season with their End of Season Tournament. It was great to see the improvements each team made over the course of the season, culminating in a fun, yet competitive tournament weekend!

Crosswalk Safety Tips for Drivers and Pedestrians from the City of Irvine:
Pedestrians
• Be aware of your surroundings. As you approach a crosswalk, make note of the vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow.
• Make sure drivers see you.
• Put away electronic devices or any other items that may cause you to be distracted. Don’t push the flashing beacon and enter the crosswalk without checking for vehicles.
• Always cross at the marked crosswalks and use the pedestrian flashing beacon regardless of whether or not a vehicle is nearby – oftentimes vehicles approach the intersection as the pedestrian is partially through the crosswalk. Pushing the button assures that the beacon is flashing the entire time you are in the crosswalk.
• Occasionally, sporting events at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park require special signage for parking restrictions. This could be an additional distraction for pedestrians and drivers; use extra caution.
• During daylight saving time changes in spring and fall, please be aware that pedestrians may be less visible to drivers.

Drivers
• Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and at intersections.
• Always be prepared to stop at all crosswalks. Stay alert and reduce speed.
• At controlled intersections (stop sign), come to a complete stop and look for pedestrians, bicyclists, skateboarders, etc. before continuing on your path.
• At uncontrolled intersections (no stop sign), follow standard right-of-way rules. Stop and proceed only when it is safe to do so.
• Never pass another vehicle that has stopped or is slowing down at a crosswalk.
