Civil Seminar

On November 1, 2022, the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Federal Bar Association hosted its 14th Annual Civil Seminar. This year’s Seminar was attended by 70 attorneys and law clerks and centered on effective oral argument in federal court. The seminar was a panel discussion during which attendees heard from a diverse panel of Judges – The Honorable Charles Wilson, Circuit Judge; The Honorable Thomas Barber, District Judge; The Honorable Amanda Sansone, Magistrate Judge; and The Honorable Roberta Colton, Bankruptcy Judge – as well as the ever great moderator, The Honorable Anthony Porcelli, Magistrate Judge, on topics such as how to structure opening statements, the use of handouts or visual aids, how to order arguments, and the similarities and differences between remote and in-person arguments. The Civil Seminar Committee would like to thank Judges Wilson, Barber, Colton, Porcelli, and Sansone for their time, dedication, and commitment to the community and practitioners.
