Meeting with Admissions?

The college admissions interview can be daunting, but it is KEY, especially at smaller universities. Here are a few tips to remember:

  • Whether you’re interested in political science, studying abroad, internships, certain clubs and so forth, be sure to let them know your intention.

  • Remember that your objective is to have a meaningful discussion. Talk about your outside interests. Read a book for fun and if it's appropriate, drop it into your conversation. They want to hear you speak about your goals and interests in a real conversation.

  • Be sure to make eye contact. Absolutely no phones. Don’t even bring them into the office. No pinging, ringing, etc.

  • Be sure to show genuine enthusiasm. They want to get to know you and determine if you and the school are a good fit.

Putting the Focus on Well-Being

Nowadays, more college students are seeking housing on campus that is substance-free. College of the Holy Cross, Boston College and Tufts are just a few schools to note this increased student interest, according to a recent article in The Boston Globe. Student Tips
The SAT format will change in March 2024. December is the LAST OPPORTUNITY to take it as is. You still have time to sign up for the December test.

This is the time to review your list of schools you’re applying to. Get everything lined up, especially your teacher recommendations. Know if you want to get into Early Action pool so you can meet those submission dates.

Common early action deadlines are November 1, November 15 and December 1. If your grades and scores are on point for where you want to apply, then you should apply by the early action deadline if available to increase your chance of admission as well as maximizing aid. Submit ALL your materials - including recommendation letters and test scores.
