Brunswick: 10 a.m. Veterans Plaza, 155 Maine St. Service led by W. David Watson, Post 20 Commander, George. T. Files Brunswick American Legion. 11 a.m. Monday. Wreath ceremony at “The Rock” at Brunswick High School, 71 Dragon Drive.
Orono: 1 p.m. UMaine Football vs. Bryant, Military Appreciation Game. All current and former military members and their families are eligible for free tickets to the game. A jet from Maine’s 101st Refueling Wing will conduct a ceremonial flyover before kickoff.
Sunday, November 10:
Leeds: 11:15 a.m. A Veterans Day observance at the Veteran’s Memorial Park at the corner of Route 106 and Church Hill Road. For more information, call Laura Juraska 207-524-2324.
Skowhegan: 2 p.m. Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge Chili and Dynamite Cook Off for our veterans at the lodge at 21 Silver St. For $5 per cup attendees can sample and vote for their favorites. Lodge gift cards will go to the winner of each category.
Monday, November 11:
Augusta: 8 a.m. VA Maine’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Togus, flagpole commons outside of Building 200, 1 VA Center.
Bangor: 1 p.m. Cole Land Transportation Museum are hosting their annual Veterans Day Service on Monday, November 11th at 1:00 PM. The service, held in the Museum’s lobby, marks the museum's final day of the season and is dedicated to honoring and celebrating the many contributions of our veterans. This year's event will feature a concert by the Bangor Band, filling listeners’ ears with patriotic melodies. Two special guest speakers will also share words of gratitude and reflection, reminding all attendees of the importance of Veterans Day.
Biddeford-Saco: 9:55 a.m. Opening ceremony on Main Street in Saco (in front of City Hall). Parade proceeds along Main Street and down York Hill into Biddeford, where it continues along Main Street, turns left onto Alfred Street and concludes in Veterans Memorial Park at the corner of Alfred and Pool Streets.
Boothbay Harbor: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A special screening of the documentary film "Personal Courage" at the Harbor Theater in Boothbay Harbor. The event will include sandwiches and treats provided by the Community Resource Council, and complimentary popcorn for all attendees, courtesy of the Harbor Theater. Following the film, there will be a brief panel discussion.
Brewer: 10:15 a.m. Veterans Day Parade.
Falmouth: 11 a.m. Ceremony at the Falmouth Veterans Memorial at 65 Depot Road. Following the ceremony, the Falmouth Lions Club will provide a luncheon at the Falmouth Legion Post for veterans, their families and everyone who would like to show appreciation for veterans.
Farmington: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The annual Veterans Day Breakfast and Flag Raising Ceremony is planned at MaineHealth Franklin Hospital to honor local veterans and active-duty military personnel. The breakfast in the Bass Room on the Franklin campus at 111 Franklin Health Commons, with a flag raising ceremony planned outside the hospital.
Hallowell: 9 a.m. Goodrich-Caldwell American Legion Post 6 has planned Veterans Day events on Monday, Nov. 11 at the 114 Second St. post, where breakfast will be served by Boy Scout Troop 647 Alumni. All veterans are invited. Attendees and members of the community can assemble at the Veterans Memorial in Legion Park at the Hallowell cemetery for the 11 a.m. ceremony.
Ellsworth: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Noon to 1 p.m., 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. FREE meals to all Veterans at 317 High Street in Ellsworth. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Ellsworth Elks Lodge #2743 will be offering free meals to all Veterans to honor them for their service on Veterans Day. Family and friends may join them for a small donation. Please come and join us at the Lodge, 317 High Street in Ellsworth.
Lewiston: 10 a.m. The Lewiston Auburn Veterans Council will host a Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park (2 Main Street, Lewiston) and has invited the community to attend. The event includes veteran speakers, reenactment of the 3rd Maine Regiment Voluntary Infantry, Company A, Legion of Honor/Kora Shriners, and the unveiling of the newest Memorial Name Stone.
North Yarmouth: 11:30 a.m. The North Yarmouth Veterans Memorial Park Association will host a free lunch for veterans at Toddy Brook Cafe at 925 Sligo Road.
Old Orchard Beach: 11 a.m. A flag-raising ceremony will take place in Memorial Park on Heath Street.
Paris: 9 a.m. at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Veterans Resource Fair followed by ceremonies at 10 a.m. led by Foster Carroll American Legion Post #72 and VFW Post 9787, both of Paris. Representatives from the Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services, Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration, Martin’s Point, Health Affiliates of Maine, Community Concepts, Veterans Upward Bound, Disable American Veterans, Honor Flight Maine, Quilts of Valor, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Boothbay Vets Trailers will all be in attendance.
Portland: 10:30 a.m. Parade route is along Congress Street, from Longfellow Square to City Hall. Ceremony will follow on the steps and plaza at City Hall.
Portland: 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. CBS13 and Fox23 are honoring our veterans with their third annual Veterans Day Drive-Thru Thank You. They invite veterans and their families to come to their station at 81 Northport Drive in Portland for free donuts and coffee.
Presque Isle: 5 p.m. Presque Isle Elks, Lodge #1954 will offer a free Veterans Day supper for all military veterans, current military service personnel and their spouses at the Elks Lodge located at 508 Main St. in Presque Isle.
Sanford: 11 a.m. Ceremony indoors at Sanford Memorial Gymnasium at 678 Main St. This will be followed by an honor guard wreath-laying ceremony outdoors.
South Portland: 10:30 a.m. Parade starts at Southern Maine Community College and runs along Broadway to Mill Creek Park.
Waterville: 11 a.m. Waterville Veteran’s Day Parade, 21 College Ave. to Main Street with a short ceremony at Castonguay Square followed by a free lunch at the Winslow VFW for veterans and guests. Lineup begins at 10 a.m. for parking and line up.
Westbrook: 11 a.m. Veterans Rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, 380 Stroudwater St. Ceremony includes posting the flag, patriotic poetry, musical selections and a mayoral proclamation.
Windham: 11 a.m. Windham Veterans Center, 35 Veterans Memorial Drive. Ceremony featuring guest speakers and the student winners of this year’s local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10643 essay contest.
