Thank you Wendy EV for your Life Advocacy!
We thank you for joining us for Monday's workshop, Disability Justice for Artists.
Our workshop facilitator, Wendy Elliott-Vandivier, shared her professional background and her journey as a mother with a disability, which inspired her to advocate for disabled mothers by founding the Mom Center. Her presentation explored the stereotypes and challenges parents with disabilities face, alongside her son’s perspective on her experiences.
Wendy also discussed her work with the United Spinal Association, including her advocacy for improved airplane accessibility and better insurance coverage for wheelchair users. As co-president of the United Spinal Greater Philadelphia chapter, she shared stories of her activism and travels, using her artwork, including powerful portraits, to raise awareness and drive change.
