I recently attended a special event at the famed Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Scottsdale. Over 100 of my Engel & Völkers Private Office colleagues were gathered to discuss trends and strategies in the luxury real estate market across the Americas. We all agreed that 2021 was the year of migration and along with many fleeing the big cities was stories of wealthy clients seeking to build a portfolio of luxury vacation homes to control their families safety, security and experiences. Fascinating how the global business elite always seem to move ahead of the pack and set trends and paths that are often followed for years to come. What struck me was also how simple true luxury is. While many seek out status with best in class brands , the truly savvy luxury consumer seeks experiences and opportunities that give them back the #1 commodity on the planet. Time. So, how do you define your luxury? Is it time? Simplicity? Privacy? Or is it the ultimate in adventure, design or security? What really stands out for me is that luxury is truly personal and everybody can define what matters most to them. As the world slowly opens up this month, be safe, smile and explore.

ENGEL & VÖLKERS HOME SELLER REPORT:

The Next Luxury Home Seller

The North American residential real estate market is red hot. The past year has seen record-low inventory and surging demand, which has continued through the first half of 2021. In nearly every market situation, there are homeowners that are willing to sell their homes. The key lies in having the ability to identify which segments of consumers fall within this group. The question is: Which North American luxury homeowners plan to be active home sellers in 2021 and 2022?

The Starbright Children’s Development Centre supports the growth and development of children with exceptional developmental needs through early intervention services, and empowers their families through education and resources for child care.

The Central Okanagan Food Bank operates Westside and Kelowna locations, serving 3300-4300 individuals per month, and $3,500,000 food per annum.

The BC SPCA is serves to protect and enhance the quality of life for animals in British Columbia by providing services such as emergency shelter and care, animal advocacy and running animal cruelty investigations.
