Take the First Steps into a Bright Future


This summer, Auburn University and the Korean Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) joined together to form the KITECH/Auburn University Manufacturing Technology Innovation Center (KAMTIC). This collaboration will further help support Korean industries to improve manufacturing operations in the Auburn-Opelika area and to promote the development of advanced technologies such as manufacturing artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous manufacturing.

Sefton’s outreach and community-engaged scholarship focuses on improving performance, enhancing health and wellness, and reducing injury among tactical athletes—including military personnel, police, firefighters and first responders. Her work through the Warrior Athlete Training program has impacted over 860,000 soldiers, treating over 510,000 new injuries and saving 1,692,872 soldier training hours by reducing lost training time due to injury, reflecting a savings to the US Army in over $30,518,419 in medical costs. Sefton has also developed specialized training programs for the Auburn University ROTC program, the City of Auburn’s Police and Fire Departments as well as area college and school systems. Sefton’s distinguished academic, research and outreach engagement is having a positive and lasting impact on military, tactical athletes and students, and she serves as an exemplar of Auburn’s commitment to outreach and community engagement.

Thank You for Your Donations!

 

The Office of Outreach Global would like to thank the Truman Pierce Institute, the Auburn United Methodist Women of Faith, and the Lee County Alabama NAACP: CommUNITY Coordination Committee & Education Committee for their generous donations of school supplies and textbooks to support Outreach Global’s international programs. Supplies and books were taken to Liberia and Ghana in October 2024 and distributed to local Liberian and Ghanaian schools, and more supplies will be given to K-12 schools in Accra, Ghana during Outreach Global’s Ghana Service-Learning Program from June 3–16, 2025.
