"Meet the Bigs" Event Draws Crowd

Several hundred firms met with agencies and primes from federal, state, and local governments at the annual “Meet the Bigs” conference coordinated by Greater Spokane Inc, Washington PTAC, and Fairchild Airforce Base.

October marked a change in the seasons – not just a change to the weather, it’s government contracting networking season! Two major events were held: Meet the Bigs in Spokane and the Small Business Summit in Lynnwood. A third is scheduled for Tri Cities November 17.

“Government agencies at all levels have unprecedented needs for private sector contractors to bid and perform” commented Tiffany Scroggs, PTAC Program Director. “Now is a great time for firms to work with PTAC on a capture management strategy to go get that work!”

A good strategy starts with solid market research – understanding who buys what you sell and how they buy it. Start with agency websites and the major procurement sites including SAM.gov and Washington State Department of Enterprise Service’s WEBS system where both state and local agencies post bids. This research will help inform a strategy for positioning your firm to be in the right place at the right time to bid. If you get stuck, you can always “Ask PTAC” here and check out the events listed below.
