PACE Case: Most Appropriate Antidepressant for a Cardiac Patient
MT is a 72 year-old PACE participant. He is ataxic and weak, and is depressed since his heart attack three months ago. He visits the PACE Center less frequently and has disengaged from his usual social activities when he is present. A nd, his home situation is becoming difficult.  The PACE physician contacted CareKinesis for a recommendation on which antidepressant to initiate, given MT's current medication regimen:
Lorazepam (Ativan®) 1 mg daily at bedtime
Alprazolam (Xanax®) 0.5 mg daily
Atorvastatin (Lipitor®) 40 mg daily
Diltiazem (Cardizem CD®) 240 mg daily
Hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril®) 12.5 mg daily
Metoprolol 100 mg daily
Glyburide (Diabeta®) 5 mg daily

PACE Acronym List
At NPA's October Annual Conference, our own Deb Quillen, Client Liaison, teamed up with Immanuel Pathways' Amanda Boyle, Risk Adjustment Supervisor, and Capstone's Matt Zimmerman, Risk Adjustment Consultant, to present "Part D Internal Auditing and Monitoring for PACE: It's more than just a Fraud, Waste and Abuse Policy."

We would like to share the PACE-specific acronym list that was assembled for this session. Please feel free to use this at-will. We welcome suggestions, comments, and questions, and would be happy to revise it based on your input!

"I am pleased to inform you that we had another perfect survey.
No unmet elements. All "Met" in all areas. That is, of course, thanks to you all
for your partnership and ongoing support.
They really love our EMR system and how it works with the pharmacy, billing processes, etc..."
