A Warm Start to Your Morning:
A breakfast idea from the Well-Seasoned Yogi
Prepare this recipe for soaked oats with quinoa in single serving sized jelly jars. You’ll wake up to a protein packed breakfast ready to heat and serve.

Cooked organic quinoa
Cook according to package directions or in your Instant Pot:
1 c quinoa
1 ½ c water
Pressure cook for 1 minute on high
Slow release for 5 minutes
Quick release
This will make 3 cups of quinoa. The leftovers make a great base for salads and soups, or can be frozen.

7 6oz jelly jars
Add to each jar:
2 tbsp stone ground oats
2 tsp chia seed
1 tsp oat bran
1 chopped date
dash of cinnamon
3 tbsp canned ‘lite’ coconut milk
2 tbsp quinoa

Top off with plant milk of your choice.
Stir and refrigerate overnight.

Serving suggestion:
Place the soaked oats into a bowl to heat in the microwave or suitable pot if heating on the stovetop. Add sliced bananas, a sprinkle of goji berries or a medley of fresh fruit, crushed walnuts and a drizzle of honey or, to make breakfast vegan, maple syrup.
What are You Thankful For?
We asked our incredible front desk team what they were thankful for this year:

Shelley Dutt said this , "I am grateful for all the people who have come into my life for a season, a reason, and a lifetime. In life we are always meeting people and we never know who might just give us sound advice to have an impact on our lives. I have been very lucky to have met yoga students at the front desk who have helped me see the sunshine even in the darkest of days, without them realizing how they influenced my growth, happiness, and well being."

Eden Edell writes , "I am grateful to have found SYC, to work in a place with beautiful and inspiring teachers/staff and members, and to feel a part of a community. I am grateful to learn and grow in this space and share what I have learned with others. I'm grateful for the many smiles, laughter, and meaningful conversations I've had here."
And in case you thought we were taking this thankfulness thing too seriously, Nathan Akers offers this: " I'm thankful for existential nihilism, it takes all the pressure off of the holidays."
