A note from your
Innkeeper
Greetings!
The days are growing shorter and the nights longer. For me, this is the time I feel like hibernating! I find it
harder to get myself out of bed when the sky is still dark. Do you know what I do? I get up an hour earlier (actually the time it was before we "fell back") and I recharge my own batteries with meditation, visualizations, affirmations, journaling, some exercise and reading for that additional hour. By the time I’m done, the sun has risen and I'm ready to start my day. I got this from the Life SAVERS from
The Miracle Morning
written by Hal Elrod.
November has me thinking of all the people, experiences and things for which I'm grateful. First is my family - without them I wouldn't be grounded. Next is The Rookwood Inn - my fabulous employees and guests who constantly enrich our lives. Then come my friends and pets who provide support, love and laughter. I am also thankful for the wonderful experiences I have had such as travel throughout this country and the world. I am thankful for the people I've met, the cultures I've learned about, the food I've been fortunate to share. I am thankful for the books I've read which have opened my eyes and heart and taught me so much. I am grateful for the arts - music, dance, art, theater, film - which stimulate my mind and senses. I am grateful for living in such a beautiful part of the country where we have four distinct seasons, amazing scenery and wildlife galore.
And so much more . . . Whatever your desire, now is the perfect time for a fall escape to The Rookwood Inn and the Berkshires with your spouse, partner, friend and/or family! We can't wait to welcome you!
