AB: New Functionality Moving to OneStop |
On October 21, 2021, the AER released new functionality to the OneStop platform:
Enhanced Search (Elasticsearch) Function - OneStop users will have greater flexibility when searching for information.
Submissions - licensees will receive alerts and notifications on submissions. Interested stakeholders can receive email notifications on new submission types.
Aggregate Management Plans (Submission Type) – will now be submitted through OneStop.
Public Lands:
Manual 018: OneStop Public Lands Application will be updated to include guidance on the application process for borrow pit dispositions issued by the AER.

As of October 21, 2021, all draft Public Lands Act (PLA) applications, that contain variances to standards, require updated variance information before submission. The AER encourages applicants to maintain a separate copy of variance information for replacement in the draft application for submission.

AB: New Functionality Moving to OneStop - Directional Surveys |
On November 4, 2021, the AER will release new functionality to the OneStop platform:
Well Directional Surveys
Licensees will have the ability to submit directional survey data through OneStop. As a result of the transition to OneStop, the AER will no longer accept directional survey PDF data submitted by email effective 5:00 p.m. on October 26, 2021. After this date, licensees must pause their submissions until November 4, 2021.
Licensees will be required to submit directional survey data using new directional survey templates (.xlsx or.csv). These templates will be available on the OneStop landing page on November 4, 2021 or by contacting the AER's Customer Contact Centre prior to November 4, 2021.
Licensees must submit directional survey data for each drilling leg within 30 calendar days of the finished drill date.

AB: Eligibility End Date: New Well Royalty Rate Eligible Production and Natural Gas Deep Drilling Program

On October 25, 2021, Alberta Energy reminds operators that any crude oil, condensate or gas production after December 31, 2021, will not be eligible for the New Well Royalty Rate (NWRR), inclusive of Coalbed Methane NWRR, Shale Gas NWRR, Horizontal Gas NWRR, Horizontal Oil NWRR, and the Natural Gas Deep Drilling Program (NGDDP).
The Petrinex oil forecasting tool will be updated to capture the correct calculation types. This will be implemented in November 2021 so that the forecasts for January 2022 production are accurate.

AB: New Contamination Management Manual |
The purpose of this manual is to assist industry in understanding the regulatory requirements and expectations for remediating contamination related to oil and gas, in situ, and pipeline activities regulated by the AER.

SK: High Water-Cut Oil Well Program (HWCP) |
On October 27, 2021, enhancement to IRIS has been made to include the addition of a new high water-cut royalty category (TR4 WC) and the ability to apply a high water-cut royalty rate deduction.

SK: Notice to Operators of Combustors in Saskatchewan |
On October 26, 2021, The Ministry of Energy and Resources (ER) has identified issues with combustor installations in Saskatchewan that must be addressed by all licensees.
Additionally, licensees of sites with combustors must maintain records to show that regular maintenance is being performed. Vegetation control programs must be followed. Licensees of the lease must ensure that a 10 metre buffer zone is maintained around the perimeter of the combustor.
