A Note From Dean Jermyn
As we wrap up November and head into the final stretch of the year, I’m reminded of just how special our SOM community is. Your energy, ideas and willingness to jump in, whether it’s for students, colleagues or new initiatives, make this place truly shine.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Town Hall on November 13. Your engagement and thoughtful input continue to move our mission forward in meaningful ways.
I’m looking ahead to our Unity festivities in December and hope you’ll join us as we end the year with connection, celebration and a little well-deserved cheer.
My best regards,
Richard T. Jermyn, D.O.
Dean

Rowan University Expands Global Partnerships with Egyptian Medical School
Rowan University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the School of Medicine at Egypt’s Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, creating opportunities for medical student exchanges and short-term training programs in New Jersey. The agreement, part of Rowan’s growing global network, aims to attract international students and strengthen collaborative medical education.
The MOU lays groundwork for collaboration in medical education and student exchange. Medical education in Egypt differs significantly from in the U.S., largely due to limited access to advanced technology and equipment. To bridge this gap, Rowan and AASTMT plan to launch short-term training programs in New Jersey, giving Egyptian students firsthand exposure to Rowan’s medical education environment.

Success After Rowan-Virtua SOM
Nathan Carroll, D.O., MBA, MPH
Dr. Carroll shares that the culture at SOM profoundly shaped how he approaches patient care. Influenced by mentors who modeled compassionate, holistic medicine, he took full advantage of opportunities at Rowan, including completing the D.O./MBA program and founding the InvestMed Club, now known as Med Tank.
