What's Happening at KHS
Adorable Adoptable
Dad the Dog

Meet Dad, who our staff and volunteers affectionately call "Dad the Dog". Dad is a handsome, stocky American Pit Bull Terrier with a huge, endearing smile and happy, wiggly bum. Passed over by adopters for months, possibly due to his breed or color, and closing in on 100 days of being here at the shelter and waiting for a new home, we want to show off the amazing dog that our staff and volunteers have come to know and love. Our hope is that this glimpse into Dad the Dog's life at KHS will inspire a family to open their heart and home to him.

Petco Foundation Supports KHS!
KHS is thrilled to unveil its newest vehicle, a Ford Transit Connect van, which is helping us save more lives than ever! The new vehicle was purchased thanks to a generous investment from the Petco Foundation and is on the road all over the county, region and state on an almost daily basis with KHS staff and volunteers. The new van is used to transport animals and supplies to/from events, deliver cats to our off-site adoption locations, pick up kittens at our prison foster program, and transfer at-risk pets from our rescue partners. THANK YOU to the Petco Foundation!
The Power of Giving
Support Our Shelter Pets When You Shop On

This season help our dogs and cats get the lifesaving individualized care they need.  When you are shopping on , choose to shop via AmazonSmile this season. It’s simple. Go to Amazon, click on the AmazonSmile button, choose the Kitsap Humane Society as your charitable donation, and every time you shop, 0.5% of your purchase will be sent to us to transform the lives of thousands of at risk animals in our community. This costs you nothing, but will make a big difference to the pets in our shelter, like Scout here!
You can also help by purchasing a few items on our Amazon Kitsap Humane Society Wish List. These are items like specialty food items, toys and other items that make a dog or cat’s transition into our shelter a little less stressful. Click on the item you’d like to donate and they ship it directly to us. Thank YOU!
