What I'm thankful for...

I’m so thankful for the staff and volunteers for all they are doing to make St. Louis a mentally healthy place for all, with special thanks for all the work they are doing for the women of the Mary Ryder Home. The organization provides home and behavioral health support for a population of St. Louis that otherwise may not be able to receive the critical and compassionate care they need. Thank you for supporting these women and all of those we serve in St. Louis. You are truly making a difference!

What I'm thankful for...

I am most thankful for the work and services that Provident provides because I get to see the fruits of our labor every day in our Youth Programs Department. With the premise of our Afterschool programs providing enrichment activities, our staff does a phenomenal job implementing, supporting and encouraging the social and emotional well-being of the children in our programs. Unlike other out of school programs in the area, Provident's Afterschool program has evolved over the years with high-quality social-emotional learning activities through heavily researched-based curriculums that not only support the children we serve, but also our team! And for that, I am very proud of the work we do and thankful to work for an organization that works to support the community as a whole.

What I'm thankful for...

I am proud of the people I work with at Provident – every volunteer, support staff member, and clinician who still chooses to show up and make themselves available to support others during a pandemic. We were able to make such a quick and effective transition to tele-mental health and have been providing the best possible care to the community. I am also thankful for the team members who checked in on me while hate and discrimination spread just like a virus against my race, my country of origin, or the way I look. I felt less alone.

What I'm thankful for...

We hear sometimes that gratitude is good for us. Recent times have reminded me to appreciate all of the people in various areas of my life, as well as activities that used to seem routine. I am particularly thankful that Provident does different kinds of work and reaches many people who might not have any other support. My work at Provident puts me in a position where I can make a difference. My gratitude extends to the callers and clients who share their stories with us. I am also very thankful for my great co-workers, whose compassion inspires me.

What I'm thankful for...

Since I work closely with Mary Ryder Home, I am most grateful and proud of the life-saving and life changing services we provide for the women. I have gotten to know many of the residents and their back stories and truly believe that, without our services, many of these women would be living a life of abuse and neglect. Many have told me they would be homeless or dead if it wasn’t for Mary Ryder Home. When I see them smile and laugh, or they just give me a hug and say thank you for helping me, I realize Provident is truly making a difference for these residents and that just warms my heart.
