Connecticut Cleanup

Subaru of New England has joined forces with Connecticut Cleanup, coordinated by Save the Sound, for the fourth year in a row to maintain awareness of this annual event which "preserves the environment and coastlines by removing trash from where it doesn't belong -- local communities and waterways."

According to Annalisa Paltauf, volunteer coordinator for Save the Sound, “The increased interest in the Connecticut Cleanup over the past several years, which persisted even throughout the pandemic, with the help of stalwart sponsors like Subaru of New England, has brought new energy to the program. Together we’re growing beyond the coast by offering more cleanups along inland rivers, lakes, and wetlands; this year’s sponsors will help expand habitat-cleaning events to even more communities.”

“At Subaru of New England, we are proud to be more than a car company,” says Jeff Ruble, Chief Operating Officer of Subaru of New England. “Preserving the environment is at the heart of the Subaru Love Promise, and participating in Save the Sound’s Connecticut Cleanup alongside our Connecticut Retailers has become a core annual event. We are honored to offer our continued support by becoming a Habitat Hero. We hope by giving this crucial program the opportunity to grow, Save the Sound can continue their environmental successes and provide even more protection for local habitats and communities.”

Connecticut Certified Eco-Friendly Retailers proudly supported the annual cleanup effort in their communities this past September. Assisting in this endeavor were (please click on each retailer name below to view):

Water Down the Drain??
Not Necessarily So...
According to Earth 911, "traditional car washes use between 15 and 85 gallons per vehicle without water conservation equipment. Today's versions use only eight to 70 gallons per vehicle when equipped with some form of water reclamation and/or filtration tech (depending on the type of car wash)." Read the entire article here. Again, think of the bottom line at your retailer location if you switched to recycled/reclaimed water.
