Simple Gifts
Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free,
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gain'd,
To bow and to bend we will not be asham'd,
To turn, turn will be our delight,
Till by turning, turning we come round right.

Oh Come, Oh Come and Volunteer
It’s beginning to look a lot like Advent. We are preparing for our annual Road to Bethlehem. That means, we need you! We need volunteers to help greet people, be actors (no lines to memorize), help with animals, read scripture, and sing. Please call or email Lucy if you are interested or have any questions. Time commitment is December 3, 2022 from 1:00PM – 6:00PM. Pizza dinner after event for all who volunteer. Thank you!

Check out the new fireplace in Koinonia Lodge. Years of use required that we replace the insert as well as the stone face. Here's to many more years of memories being made in front of the fire at Sugar Creek with family, friends, retreats and church groups. All are welcome to gather here
Thank you to our volunteers and Jody Bankes for the work put into the rebuild.
Elementary and Middle School Youth Retreats
New! Enjoy an epic overnight “field trip” for the kids or youth from your church, and invite your whole town! Now you can pick your own dates. The program is customized to your preferred dates, schedule, and even ministry goals. Meet with our professional program staff to plan a custom event, or just ask for “plug and play” simplicity for a great fall or winter youth event.

Elementary School: 2nd-5th grade. Typical program runs from drop-off at 1 PM on Saturday until pick-up at 1 PM Sunday. Stay overnight or just for the day. Enjoy Bible story time, memorable songs, and cool outdoor activities any time of year.
Cost: $39 (day only) or $79 (overnight) per camper. Cost includes meals, lodging, program, materials, etc.

Middle School: 6th-9th grade. Middle school weekends are flexible, but often begin at 7 PM Friday night through 11 AM Sunday. Confirmation groups are especially welcome. Enjoy campfires, hikes, games, and memorable conversations about your life and faith.
Cost: $79 (one night, 2-3 meals) or $99 (two nights, 3-5 meals) per person. Cost includes meals, lodging, program, materials, etc.

Call or email to save a date for your group: (608-)734-3113 or program@sgrcreek.org.

Worship on the Bluff
You may hear campers and staff at Sugar Creek talk about going "up the bluff." So, what exactly is a bluff?

A bluff is a type of broad, rounded cliff, small hill or other elevation that rises steeply from the ground. Bluffs often form along rivers where they curve and meander. They are also shaped by the geologic forces of melting ice sheets.

Our bluff is home to Jesus Point and Inspiration Point. Both are beautiful places to look out over God's creation at Sugar Creek Bible Camp. It stands 390 vertical feet above Sugar Creek. Although we are not aware of a name for our bluff, it is part of Mikelson Ridge.

Campers visit the Bluff for horse overnights, hiking, field games, campfire worship, and many other activities.

If you have never made it up to the top of the Bluff, you should put it on your Sugar Creek to-do list.
Grateful! Thankful! Blessed!
