Drowsy Driving Prevention Week
November 3-10, 2019

The NSF campaign goal is to reduce the number of drivers who elect to drive while sleep deprived. Drowsy driving is responsible for more than 6,400 U.S. deaths annually. These fall asleep crashes are often caused by voluntarily not getting the sleep you need. Millions of Americans also experience excessive sleepiness as a result of sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea and narcolepsy. NSF encourages everyone to prioritize sleep and drive when alert and refreshed.

Martha Horseman, Program Manager; Joe Martin, Marketing & Publications Manager; Megan Martin, Training Manager; and our Safety Circuit Rider Jeffrey Hackbart exhibited at the Kentucky Association of Counties Conference & Exposition in Louisville a couple of weeks ago.

The KACo Annual Conference & Exposition provides an opportunity for members to attend educational workshops, view an exhibit hall of more than one hundred booths, and meet and build relationships with county elected officials, state leaders and business people from across the state.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth and we look forward to working with you throughout the year.

Megan and Joe were all smiles at the expo as participants started to make their way to the booths.

Traffic Incident Management (TIM)
National Traffic Incident Response Awareness Week

November 10-16, 2019

TRAFFIC EMERGENCY ACTIONS MATTER

Be part of the TEAM!

Incident response is always on our minds.

Every minute of every day emergency responders across the country work to help save lives at the scene of traffic incidents. Too many are struck on scene. Too many die. The goal of National Traffic Incident Response Awareness Week is, for the fourth year, to reach out to every responder, and to every driver, and to every passenger, to make it more clear that every person has a role to play.

Join us for a 4-hour training session where traffic incident management professionals come together to raise awareness of the dangers emergency responders face during traffic incidents. The following topics will be discussed:

  • Safe, Quick Clearance
  • Notification and Scene Size-Up
  • Safe Vehicle Positioning

  • Traffic Management
