FROM THE INTERIM PASTOR

In the great circle of life we’ve come around to another Advent – another time and opportunity to prepare our hearts to enjoy the most amazing present from God – the gift of Jesus Christ, born again unto us at Christmastime.

As we enter the Advent season, let us do so as little children, with all the sparkle and wonder and anticipation within us to experience anew the precious, priceless gifts Jesus brings to us – gifts of God’s hope, peace, joy and love for our life – gifts that last forever.

And with generous hearts let us then share these good gifts of hope, peace, joy and love with those we meet on life’s journey this season and beyond, so they too, can be blessed by the Spirit of Christ.

Wishing you a wondrous Advent,

Will

FROM OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR

Good Seasonal Tidings to all of you!

December is finally upon us and the Advent and Christmastide season brings us into one of the most musical times of the year! There is no better way to celebrate the Birth of Christ than to sing praises with each other and bring “Gifts” of talents for all to share!

We hope you can find time to attend our weekly Sunday morning services in person or on Facebook. Typically, in the season of Advent, we focus our thoughts toward “Waiting for Christ” and “Braving the Unknown”, using the Themes: Hope, Peace, Love, & Joy. And then this is met with the “comfort and joy” from the arrival of Christ! Each of the services in December will be focused around those themes, both theologically AND MUSICALLY!

Because Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year, our leadership and worship teams have been able to plan some unique worship opportunities for you to attend and/or participate in. Please mark these dates and times in your calendar so you don’t miss out!

  • Dec. 18th at 10am - “Flip the Script” Pageant Play
  • Presented FOR kids, BY adults!
  • This will take place during the typical Sunday morning service
  • Dec. 18th at 5pm - Lessons & Carols Service
  • Presented by Music Ministry Ensembles
  • Congregation Hymns included
  • Free event open to the Community
  • Soup & Salad Reception to follow
  • Dec. 24th at 5pm - Christmas Eve Service
  • Ends with singing “Silent Night” by candlelight outside (weather permitting)
  • Dec 25th at 10am - Christmas Day Service
  • Intimate setting of a typical service in the Sanctuary
  • All hymns sung with soft organ

Looking into the New Year, I hope you might consider joining one of our music ministry groups: Adult Voice Choir, Hand Bell Choir, Worship Band, Creative Worship Team, & Volunteering for Worship) If you have any questions about these groups, you can reach out to me via email ([email protected]).

I wish all of you a Merry Holiday Season and hope you can find some “comfort and joy” in the craziness of it all!

Until We Meet Again,

Scott Arnold (he/him)

FROM OUR CE DIRECTOR

It has been wonderful to see kids signing up for our programs! We will continue next month by sharing a children's time during our church service. Please check out the flyers below for information on our Christmas Pageant, Faith Fair, and Community A.C.T.S. (a new community service group specifically designed for youth).

Our Community A.C.T.S group is hard at work! 132 Blessing Bags were made and distributed to people visiting the Mustard Seed in Worcester on November 22nd. The group is continuing to grow and will be focusing it’s next project on period poverty. 1 in 5 students in the US miss school on a monthly basis due not having access to the proper menstrual cycle products.

We are flipping the script on our Christmas pageant this year and we are looking for adult volunteers who want to have some fun performing for the kids. Please reach out to Sherry if interested.

After a 3 year hiatus due to the Covid-19 virus, the Faith Fair is back! We look forward to welcoming everyone in to explore and learn about the different faiths represented in our area.

We need your help! In order to run a variety of programming for our youth we need volunteers. Do you enjoy being around our littlest members, love to dig in and make a difference in the community or have interest in being a sub for our sexual health class? Is it more your speed to help decorate the Trinity altar as part of our new altar scaping or telling a story during our children's moment? Please reach out to Sherry at [email protected] or 508-254-2217.
