A note from the Stewardship Team
It’s fall time. The leaves are changing and the nights are getting colder. Trinity is also starting to plan for next year, 2027.
One of the first steps in the planning process is our Stewardship campaign. By now, all of you should have received a Stewardship packet containing Pastor Will’s letter and pledge cards. We ask that you prayerfully consider your pledge and bring your completed pledge card to worship on Sunday, November 8th.
If you have any questions about Stewardship or the process, please speak with one of us on the Stewardship Team.
Thank you for your continued support of Trinity Church,
Tom Danforth, Tim Cashmore, and Joe Montana

Hello Trinity Church Community!
As we enter into November, I want to say a huge thank you to all of the musicians who have presented music for our worship services and the time everyone has put into preparing for it. It gives me great excitement for the month to come.
Take a look at what musical happenings are planned for November:
-
Nov 1 - All Saints’ Sunday with the inclusion of Communion and music to support both.
-
Nov 8 - Congregation Music provided by the Worship Band, including a lively song called “How Good It Is” written by Brandon Lake. We also will be singing “I Was There To Hear Your Borning Cry” for a baptism.
-
Nov 15 - The Hand Bell Choir will play an arrangement of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” for Special Music, and we will close the service with a hand bell duet from Tom Danforth & Laurie Hunter.
-
Nov 22 - Music for this service is still being determined, but it will support our Thanksgiving Service in a variety of ways.
-
Nov 29 - 5th Sunday Hymn Sing & 1st Sunday of Advent. We will sing several songs from the Chalice Hymnal focused around the 4 themes of Advent: Hope, Peace, Love, & Joy.
For November’s Song of the Month, I have chosen a folk-style hymn titled, “Count You Many Blessing”. Even though it has been around for a while, it is not found in our Chalice Hymnals, so we will have copies of the music added to the hymnal holders of the pews. You can listen to an example of it HERE.
In addition to the weekly services, don’t miss this month’s Coffee House Open Mic on November 20th at 7pm. I love these nights because it is a part of the life of our building and the missions we do as a church. Plus, people are not there to be perfect. It’s genuine sharing of talents. We sometimes have a packed house, but there is always room for more.
Looking into the future, be sure to mark your calendars for December 20th at 6pm, which will be this year’s Lessons & Carols Service presented by the Voice Choir and Hand Bell Choir.
Until We Meet Again
Find God in the Music,
Scott Arnold (He/Him)
Music Director

Dear Trinity Church Community,
Over the past few months, we have seen a decrease in participation with our Faith Formation program for kids. Regrettably, we have also been unable to fill the Faith Formation Coordinator position this year.
Due to these challenges, I have decided to suspend Faith Formation and Children's Church during worship services for the remainder of 2026 as we reassess and rebuild the program.
I am deeply grateful to our Faith Formation volunteers who stepped up to lead after our last staff coordinator left a few years ago. Thank you for your dedicated service and hard work.
Moving forward, I will be working with the team to discern the future of our children and youth ministry. The Prayground will remain available in the sanctuary, and we plan to enhance its interactive features for the kids.
If you are interested in joining the ministry team to help rebuild this program, our next Zoom meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 8th. at 5:30 PM. Please let me know if you would like to attend.
Blessings,
Pastor Will

About Wrongful Convictions
By Rev. Noelle Dattilo
I have been a member of Trinity Church Northborough since 2020 and have been a
UCC pastor since 2015. This past October 2nd was International Wrongful Conviction Day.
This day was very significant for me because, last February, a close friend of mine, was wrongfully convicted of murder.
Over the years, I have read many cases about convictions being overturned and innocent people being freed after decades of incarceration. I always assumed that the conviction of an innocent person was unintentional and due to misinterpreting the evidence.
It wasn’t until I witnessed John’s trial that I realized how much effort and intention goes into wrongfully convicting someone.
In John’s trial, many things happened that led to his conviction. The judge, who had
been fair and impartial until the few days before the trial, began allowing the prosecution
to say and do whatever they wanted, including presenting to the jury a fictionalized story
about how John killed the victim. This story was not based on any facts or evidence. State witnesses distorted evidence in a way that made John look guilty. The prosecutor put on a performance that persuaded the jury to come back with a guilty verdict.
John had a very good defense, including no evidence that connected him to the crime. We had fully expected an acquittal, but a lot of effort went into getting this conviction.
The prosector, judge and state witnesses had to play their part. If any one of them had
not played their part, John would not have been convicted.
So, what’s next? John has a very strong appeal that will go to the Supreme Judicial Court (SJC). As John’s defense attorney said, we hope the SJC will be honest enough to do the right thing.
To raise more awareness about wrongful convictions, I am working with David Chin and
Pastor Will to plan a worship service focused on wrongful convictions.
I am hoping to get a speaker to come and talk about his or her experience with being wrongfully convicted. In the meantime, you can learn more at https://www.newenglandinnocence.org/our-work
