November is National Lung Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about lung cancer, its challenges, and prevention strategies.

Smoking is the leading risk factor for lung cancer, and can cause irreversible damage to the lungs over time.

It is also National Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) month. COPD is a chronic lung disease that causes air flow limitation (less air in and out of the airways) and breathing-related symptoms.

The purpose of this month is to educate the public about COPD and encourage early detection and treatment.

To learn more about lung cancer and COPD please visit the American Lung Association.
