Each year, the CDCR presents a special luncheon event to honor the winners of the Reshaping Rochester Awards. The awards recognize exemplary regional initiatives and projects that positively impact people, neighborhoods, and the community. In 2020, we're going virtual.
In this landmark year for the CDCR, with both the 10th anniversary of our Awards Program and 15th anniversary of our Lecture Series (as well as general unprecedented times), we are especially honored to celebrate noteworthy organizations and people in the community. Keep an eye on your inbox and social media feeds for finalist features throughout the next two weeks, and join us for the virtual ceremony on Thursday, November 19th from 12:00pm-1:30pm where winners will be revealed and celebrated!
In case you haven't heard, our Urban Observations speaker this year is Danielle Ponder Esq., a Rochester-based musician, activist, and lawyer. We know her words will be enlightening and inspiring - you do not want to miss this keynote!

2020 Lecture Series Concludes
Thank you to all who attended Lecture Series events over the past several months! After some pandemic-related rescheduling, October saw our final webinar of the 2020 series with Carol Naughton ( Purpose Built Communities). Her presentation "Healthy Neighborhoods as a Path to Racial Justice" explored the many ways building holistic communities intersects with race. We also hosted a follow-up Community Conversation with Rochester-based holistic community thought leader and Executive Director of Connected Communities, LaShunda Leslie-Smith.

How to Make the Most of COVID Winter

Placemaking Pandemic Toolkit by the PlaceMakers
"We've spent the last eight months observing & contributing to best practices & have distilled those interventions in an easy-to-use format. Our hope is that the toolkit helps rebuild municipal budgets quickly, by supporting local businesses & reducing the bureaucratic process. The Toolkit is available as a free, interactive document. Each of its 22 actions includes the regulatory or policy tool needed to implement the action, along with methods, key points, & interventions required to see it through. For each action, different methods are highlighted that may help."
