* On Nov. 15 in New York City, the annual Wonderplay Conference at the 92nd St. Y will feature the Alliance's Joan Almon as a keynote speaker.

* The annual NAEYC convention will be held Nov. 20-23 in Washington, DC. The Alliance will be at Booth #2530. Please stop by - we'd love to see you! We'll also be participating in several presentations with partners including our friends at Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood and others.

* The US Play Coalition's Conference on the Value of Play will take place Feb. 16-19, 2014 in Clemson, South Carolina.

• A Research-Based Case for Recess, authored by Olga S. Jarrett, documents the importance of recess, which has been severely cut back in recent years.
