Joan Almon recently spent two weeks in the UK meeting with leading play specialists. These are individuals who have helped develop national play strategies and policies, have helped design and run adventurous play spaces, and run trainings for playworkers. The BBC ran a piece about it.

* On Nov. 15 in New York City, the annual Wonderplay Conference at the 92nd St. Y will feature the Alliance's Joan Almon as a keynote speaker.

* The annual NAEYC convention will be held Nov. 20-23 in Washington, DC. The Alliance will be at Booth #2530. Please stop by - we'd love to see you! We'll also be participating in several presentations with partners including our friends at Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood and others.

* The US Play Coalition's Conference on the Value of Play will take place Feb. 16-19, 2014 in Clemson, South Carolina.
