Volunteer Update
November 25, 2019
Dear CRC Volunteer,

November is National Gratitude Month!

It seems most everything has it’s own month. The month of November is the month to celebrate (officially!) banana pudding, historic bridges, adoption, inspirational role models and even fondue. There is such a mix of deserving and some slightly silly recipients of November’s special attention!

Most of us can agree that a month dedicated to gratitude is a good thing. This month, hundreds of families and individuals received counseling, shelter, food and compassion from staff and volunteers at Community Resource Center. We are grateful to walk with people each day and our reach is so much greater because of our committed volunteers. We are grateful for each and every one of you!

Thank you for all you do!

Volunteer Spotlight
Congratulations to our Volunteers of the Year, David and Letitia Fleming!
CRC honored our Volunteers of the Year, David and Letitia Fleming, at the North County Philanthropy Council’s annual awards luncheon on November 15th. David and Letitia have been volunteers in our Integrative Services department since 2015, starting out supporting our Calfresh program. David now provides the case management services for our Senior Food Program and Letitia is our “Jill of all trades” who welcomes participants at our front desk two days a week.

November has been a busy month of both our regular volunteer work and Holiday baskets prep! Thank you to all of these volunteers and groups:
The LDS Encinitas Ward sorted donated food from Sprouts for Holiday Baskets on November 12-20. Youth and leaders came out on a Tuesday night in November to help get ready for Holiday Baskets!
Last weekend, Encinitas Country Day students helped unload and sort Holiday Baskets donations at our Solana Beach Warehouse!
On November 23, the Day of Karma volunteer group helped at our Food and Nutrition Center and offices, led by Board Member Lindsey Brubaker
On Sunday, CRC Ambassador Volunteers represented CRC's mission to the community at the Encinitas Holiday Street Fair!
The Alpacas FTC Team 14535 and Sony Playstation helped sort food donations at our Carlsbad warehouse last weekend! Thanks to our Holiday Baskets Food Captains, Greg Kaminsky and Mark Peterson, for coordinating this effort.
Thank you to our hundreds of Food Pantry Volunteers who help ensure families have food in their cupboards each week. We are thankful to you!
