eNewsletter from St. Mark's Niagara-on-the-Lake NOVEMBER AT ST. MARK'S
Greetings!

After such a warm and beautiful October with so much to be thankful for, we turn the page into November with several significant events to remember the past and live into our future. Thanks to all who opened and reviewed our St Mark's 2020 Priorities and Plans moving forward, with the committed lay leaders helping to make them happen.

Now in these last two months of 2019 we ask for your support to Invest in St. Mark's: To Grow, To Nourish, To Serve as we move into a new decade. See below all the ways in which you can participate and contribute to the life of St Mark's with our belief that the God who 'has been our help in ages past will continue to be our hope for years to come' .

Thanks to the vision and work of the Rev'd Dr. Canon Dawn Davis, the Formation Coordinator for the Diocese , we have access to one of the most important programs that we at St Mark's can be involved with. And thanks to the 22 parishioners who came out on Oct 27 at 4 to hear Dawn and learn first-hand about the nature and benefits of REVIVE for spiritual growth.
The program always starts with a retreat, followed by three six-week sessions, ending with a final retreat.
We have booked Mt Carmel for the first retreat Nov 24/25 and will also have a full day session at St Mark's on Monday Dec 8 for those who cannot make the opening retreat. We will then begin the first module of six week sessions in January. Contact the office, or the Rector directly for more information
Synod of the Diocese of Niagara
November 9 and 10
The Rector together with the two lay delegates Doug Hunter and John MacBeth and alternate Jane De Munich, as well as Bishop's appointee Allan Magnacca will be attending Synod on behalf of St Mark's. Top of the agenda is the Mission Action Plan for the Diocese that will complement and reinforce much of our own Vision 2020 Priorities and Plans. More information about the Synod is linked here. Below is a 2017 graphic showing all the ministries we support through the Niagara Diocese.
Public Forum with our three parishioners councillors Saturday November 17 at 10 am
A lot has happened since Gary, Clare and Gary were elected just over a year ago to local and regional councils. They have agreed to come together for an open public forum to reflect on the past year, discuss some current issues and look to what lies ahead. We don't have a church basement but Addison Hall is available for all to come and be a part of this community discussion with them.
