Kundalini Yoga with Gurmukhi Mantra
Taught by Sotantar Anderson
Tuesdays, 8:30-9:30am

Kundalini Mantra class. This mantra class introduces the Gurmukhi, which is a vibrational language for accessing ones creatvity and bliss center in the brain. Mantra is an ancient yogic technology for transforming and eliminating blocks in ones energy flow.  Mantra is a Sanskrit word that translates as 'That which cuts the mind.' Gurmukhi was born in the same region as Sanskrit in the Indus Valley in India but is only 500 years old. It is known as the 'sound current' of The Aquarian Age.   It originates in the Sikh tradition and finds its true expression as a powerful yogic tool for conscious transformation.  The class is taught by Sotantar, a student of Yogi Bhajan and creator of The Adi Shakti Ashram, a Carbondale nonprofit.   Class is for voyagers on the path to understanding. Everyone can take some gem from Gurmukhi.  It is a tool for 'understanding the times.' For beginners. By donation.

Modern Dance for Kids (ages 8-11)
with Alyson Boell, Tuesdays 3:45-4:45pm

We will begin with a warm up that includes but is not limited to modern dance technique, ballet, pilates and yoga.  Because body posture is so important for confidence at this age, I will be emphasizing some fun strengthening work that will support their growing posture and internal support.  We will work on rhythm, timing, balance, and spatial awareness in and across the floor work. In the 'exploring and creating' part of the class we will do some guided improvisation and develop the idea of personal embodied gesture to bring out the creative genius in each of them. The class will always culminate into a choreographed movement phrase that we will build upon throughout a full month of classes.

$18 for a drop in or $150 for a series of 10 classes
