NOVEMBER AT THE LIBRARY

National Native American, American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month

November is National Native American, American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month. It is a time to learn more about the diverse traditions, contributions and experiences of Indigenous communities across North America.

We encourage you to join our monthly book group for adults, Book Bites, on Tuesday, November 26 at 12pm. We will be reading Louise Erdrich's novel The Night Watchman. Find more great reads by Native authors in our staff picks for kids and adults!

Honoring Transgender Day of Remembrance

Transgender Day of Remembrance is commemorated each year on November 20, and is a day to honor the transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming persons who are targeted and killed for living authentically and courageously. Visit our altar in the Makerspace from Monday, November 18 to Sunday, November 24, which will honor these individuals tragically lost to violence.

CITY CORNER

Municipal Election Information

Redwood City residents, tomorrow, November 5 is Election Day, and it’s time to make your voices heard! The upcoming Municipal Election provides an important opportunity to shape our community's future.

Redwood City Voters in City Council Districts 1, 3, 4, and 7 will have the opportunity to elect a City Councilmember. Use our interactive map to find your district here

Redwood City’s Measure BB is also on your ballot, which if enacted, will modernize the 57-year-old business license tax structure by adjusting tax rates based on business category, with the highest fee on larger industries and businesses. Small retail and commercial businesses would also have a lower per-employee tax rate. Learn more by visiting www.RedwoodCity.org/MeasureBB
