As the days become shorter and a chill begins to fill the air, we invite you to enjoy the warmth and brightness of the great indoors at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art. A host of new and continuing exhibitions provide opportunities to voyage across time and space and even to contemplate the very nature of the self. With the opening of Hello, Stranger: Artist as Subject in Photographic Portraits Since 1900, we invite you to explore modern and contemporary artists whose self-portraits and portraits challenge traditional conventions. Also, be sure to see the work of Ogawa Kazumasa, one of Japan’s most important photographers, and to enjoy Abigail DeVille: In the Fullness of Time through November 10. In this issue, we offer an opportunity to learn about the Museum Shop and to meet the BCMA’s new student interns, as well as a deep dive into the work of artist Anne Harris.

We look forward to seeing you at the Museum!
