For songs, games, crafts, and more, join us for our new Mini Mondays programming! Choose from three exciting options as you register for weeks of fun. With musical sessions led by trained facilitators from  Prelude Music and themed sessions led by our experienced early years museum staff, each week is a new adventure!

Mini Mondays are geared towards children aged 0-4 and their caregivers. Each session consists of 60-minutes of programming followed by a 30-minute coffee/tea service, complete with activities to keep your little ones engaged and learning.

*NOTE: There will be no Mini Monday programming on November 11 due to the Remembrance Day holiday.

The Children's Museum will be OPEN on Remembrance Day (Monday, November 11, 2019) from 1:00PM to 4:30PM. In honour of this day, veterans and still-serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces will receive 50% off admission on Remembrance Day.


NOVEMBER 15, 2019

Children's Museum members and up to two (2) FREE* guests per member are invited to join us at the November Members' Night and get a jump on the holiday season with an exclusive sneak-peek of our annual Eaton's Fairytale Vignettes display and more. Explore the galleries, create  a picturesque winter painting  at our Creation Station, meet special guests from Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet and drop by the Lunch Box area for a refreshment. Don't forget to enter our Members' Night survey draw for a chance to win prizes!

No pre-registration is required.

Explore a Winnipeg holiday tradition for all generations! The Children's Museum is pleased to be the home of the last original Eaton's Fairytale Vignettes Display from the ninth floor annex of the Eaton's downtown store - fully restored and open to the public for a limited time only.
Visitors of all ages will be delighted by the fifteen fun, fairytale vignettes (some of which can be traced back as early as the 1940s!) that make up this classic holiday favourite including Cinderella, Humpty Dumpty, Three Blind Mice, and more.

Please note that our standard museum admission policies will be in effect for this exhibition. The Children's Museum reserves the right to restrict admitting children unaccompanied by adults as well as adults unaccompanied by children.

The Eaton's Fairytale Vignettes are a traditional holiday favourite for generations of Winnipeggers. We are pleased to honour that tradition by offering guided tours of the exhibition to guests of all ages every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from November 16, 2019 - January 5, 2020 at 11:00AM and 2:00PM. Guided Exhibition Tours are included in general museum admission during the holiday season or are available for $5.00 (plus GST) per person.

Do you have a favourite fairytale character? In celebration of the holiday season, the Children's Museum has the Eaton's Fairytale Vignettes on display and we want to give you a taste of the fairytale fun! Join us at the Assiniboine Park Zoo on December 1, 2019 and January 5, 2020 from 5:30PM - 8:30PM at the Zoo Lights Festival for a night of fairytale shadow puppet making. When you are finished, put on your puppeteer gear and tell us your favourite story using our shadow box - see you there!

This annual event is piled high with tons of unusual fun! Guests will enjoy a non-traditional spaghetti breakfast followed by holiday-themed activities including a snowman craft, Elfie Selfies, holiday cookie decorating with our special guests from Sweet Impressions, and a tour of the Eaton's Fairytale Vignettes. And shhh, don't tell anyone but we've heard that Santa will even be surprising us with a visit!

Part of our Explore-Abilities Access Program, join us on Saturday, December 14 for an Explore-Abilities Morning - a sensory-friendly museum experience designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences to have fun and enjoy interactive, hands-on learning in a safe and accessible facility!

In this very special Explore-Abilities Morning, experience the magic of the Eaton's Fairytale Vignettes, and take a photo on your personal camera with our specially trained Sensitive Santa!
