COVID-19 Dial
The CDA has received numerous calls and emails from members asking how this week's "RED" COVID-19 Dial restrictions affect their dental practices. Dentistry and other healthcare entities are not included in the COVID-19 Dial Public Health Order (PHO 20-36). The Public Health Order that applies to dentistry is PHO 20-29, which was revised and released Wednesday. Read more about PHO 20-29 here. Healthcare will continue to be governed at the state level and not by the counties under the COVID-19 Dial provisions.
Colorado Dental Professionals Added to Priority List for COVID Vaccine
Colorado recently established a state vaccine plan. While dentists and hygienists were not directly listed in the original document as professionals who would be priority recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine, the CDA and Colorado Dental Hygienists' Association successfully lobbied CDPHE to ensure dental professionals were included in the first phase of vaccine distribution. Can I Require My Employees to be Tested for COVID?
Each week brings a new trend in questions from member dentists at the CDA. As the numbers surge, it is no surprise to see questions around testing this week. The CDA consulted with attorneys Gary Benson, Esq. and Sean O'Brien at Dworkin, Chambers, Williams, York, Benson & Evans, P.C. Here is some information on the three commonly asked question this week. Read More.

State Requires Employers to Provide Unemployment Info
Effective Oct. 30, 2020, employers must provide a notice to employees upon separation from employment that informs them of the availability of unemployment insurance. One of the most common questions employers get at the time an employee separates from employment is whether the employer will "block" or "allow" unemployment compensation. Read more
Call for Colorado Dental Board Members

The Colorado Dental Board will have at least two vacant provider positions available as of January 2021. Gov. Jared Polis will appoint one new dentist and one new dental hygienist to fill these vacant positions (and is expected to reappoint several existing Dental Board members to serve eligible second terms). Learn more.
