It's getting colder outside, and holiday music can be heard on the radio. That means that our 2022 Farmers Market season has come to an end. We'd like to say "thank you" to everyone who helped make this season possible. With this being GardenShare's first year sharing management of the Canton, Potsdam, and Gouverneur markets, we are grateful for the ever bountiful support of the community, our vendors, and our volunteers that helped make this year a success. We're also incredibly thankful for our market manager, Kathryn Puleo, for joining the GardenShare team and taking on this brand new position.

Thank you all for an amazing 2022 market season!

It’s auction time again! We had a very successful first-ever online auction last year, and we invite you to join the fun of this year’s lineup! Just in time for the holidays, our focus will again be on unique, local ideas. Locally made/grown and hand-crafted items are popular, and people love shared experiences - fishing, bird walks, canoe trips, hikes, to name just a few! Do you have a special skill/gift/art you could share? Maybe consider offering a gardening, cooking, food preservation, paddling, or basketweaving class!

The auction will launch on Friday, November 25, and run until Sunday, December 4 - the perfect time to help our supporters keep their holiday gift buying local! We hope to beat last year’s amazing total of $5,400! All proceeds support the important work GardenShare does in the North Country!

To contribute to this year’s Holiday Auction, please complete and submit the Donation Submission Form. If you have questions, call the GardenShare office at 315-261-8054. Then mark your calendars and let the bidding begin!

GardenShare partners with Nature's Storehouse for Gratitude through Giving Project

GardenShare will be partnering with Nature’s Storehouse for the Gratitude through Giving program again this year. From November 1 to November 23, Nature’s Storehouse customers are invited to make a donation to GardenShare while checking out. The funds raised will support GardenShare’s Bonus Bucks Program, which allows recipients to stretch their food dollars, support local farmers, and take advantage of the local food of St. Lawrence County through Farmers Market Purchases or Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares.

"Many people feel that healthy food is inaccessible,” Rainbow Crabtree, co-owner of Nature's Storehouse, shared. “We are inspired by the work that GardenShare does to help ensure access to healthy food, and we are proud to partner with them in this fundraising effort."

We are also very thankful to share that SeaComm Federal Credit Union will be matching donations up to $1,000 through their Pay-It Forward program. The Pay-It Forward program has enabled SeaComm staff to perform random acts of kindness in the communities they serve since 2017. GardenShare is honored to be the recipient of such kindness!
