Winter Extravaganza
Thursday, December 12, 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Dress for the weather and join us at the library for a winter party! There will be Holiday Tubas, a hot chocolate bar and a winter craft for the kids. Santa and one of his reindeer will be here from 6:30-7:30 PM.

Teen Only Study in Teen Area
Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00 - 7:00 PM
Need a quiet place to study or do homework? The library will have dedicated individual study spaces in the Teen Area for students to use. For teens in grades 6-12. No registration required. 
SAT Practice Test Session (Grade 7-12) (Limit 35)

Saturday, November 23, 9:30 AM-3:00 PM
Michigan now requires students to take the SAT in order to graduate. Set yourself up for success with a SAT practice test presented by Sylvan Learning Brighton. Teens can attend this session to partake in a full length SAT practice test, free of cost. Participants must bring their own calculator and pencil, and are encouraged to bring a snack. For grades 7-12.

Musical Jam Sessions
Wednesday, November 13, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Musicians of all instruments and skill levels are welcome to play songs, merge new ideas, learn theory and make new friends.

Bird Identification
Monday, November 18, 7:00 - 8:00 PM
Learn techniques, tips and tricks to identify birds by sight and sound. The 25 most common backyard birds found in Michigan will be highlighted.

Podcast Brunch Club
Tuesday, November 19, 10:30 - 11:30 AM
Each month a different topic will be announced along with a selection of podcasts about this topic. Listen to the podcasts on your own schedule. Then gather with us at the Library for thoughtful conversation.

Keeping Your Identity Safe
Tuesday, November 19, 7:00 - 8:00 PM
How do you keep your identity safe? John Hogan from Comerica Bank will teach you how to protect yourself whether you are shopping on-line or in person. 

Battle of the Books Informational Meetings
Battle of the Books , designed to encourage kids to read, is an opportunity for kids to read good books and have fun competing with their peers. We are looking for teams of 5 or less to compete. To learn more, attend the informational meeting for your appropriate grade level. The Battle of the Books at SSLDL will take place Saturday, March 28, 2020.
