The Christmas Joy Offering 2024 |
Each year during the Advent and Christmas season, we turn our eyes to Bethlehem and celebrate the wondrous gift of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
The Christmas Joy Offering has been a cherished Presbyterian tradition since the 1930s. The Offering distributes gifts equally to the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions and to Presbyterian-related schools and colleges equipping communities of color. The Assistance Program provides critical financial support to church workers and their families. Presbyterian-related schools and colleges provide education and leadership development while nurturing racial and ethnic heritage.
This has been a Presbyterian commitment for nearly 140 years. This year’s Christmas Joy Offering will be received December 1-22.
Special Offerings has prepared a number of resources for churches, which include Minutes for Mission, Curriculum, Worship Resources, Bulletin Inserts, and other promotional resources.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
Responds to Hurricanes Helene and Milton
|
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), through the work of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, is on the ground responding to the many urgent needs following the destruction Hurricane Helene left in her path following landfall on September 26, 2024.
Hurricane Milton made landfall on October 9, 2024 as a dangerous Category 3 storm near Siesta Key, Florida. PDA is maintaining communications with Florida Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Network (FLAPDAN) and Presbytery leadership to offer solidarity, resources, and support as the damage is assessed.
Your gifts will enable our denomination to support all the congregations and communities in the path of the storms.

The PMV Fall Bulletin/Newsletter Insert |
Presbytery of the Miami Valley produces a quarterly News and Information Bulletin/Newsletter Insert and emails it to its congregations for distribution to church members.
It is our hope that distributing news and information about the Presbytery of the Miami Valley in this way will give church members an increased understanding of the functions, ministries, and missions of the presbytery, its churches, and our denomination.

Post your position openings on the PMV website |
Presbytery of the Miami Valley maintains a “Jobs” webpage on its website for our churches to post position openings for staff, other than pastors. (Pastor positions go through our denomination’s system.)
We encourage churches to send us their position openings, and we’ll be happy to post them. They may be sent to Don Nowak at don.nowak@miamipresbytery.org
