Lung Health Updates - November 2019
Your November Lung Health Updates
Let's Talk About Living Better with COPD
This month, we want to help raise awareness around symptoms and treatment for COPD, a lung disease that causes difficulty breathing and shortness of breath in nearly 16 million Americans. Earlier diagnosis can help those living with COPD begin to improve their health and quality of life.
Women Living with COPD: Ask the Healthcare Provider
What should women know about COPD? We sat down with MeiLan K. Han, MD, MS, Professor and Director of the Michigan Airways Program at the University of Michigan Health System to answer questions ranging from when to get screened to better managing symptoms.
Know the Facts About Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men and women each year in the United States. Despite that fact, lung cancer receives 3-7 times less federal research funding per death than other well-known cancers. November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, a good time to talk about the disease and consider screening.
