MAA is excited to celebrate National Adoption Awareness Month with half off our application fee in November!

It’s a time for families, communities, businesses, and governments to celebrate adoption and raise awareness for the waiting children in foster care, local adoption, and international adoption. This month, we’d like to recognize families who have grown through adoption, advocate for permanency and the welfare of every waiting child and encourage our communities to support adoption. Join MAA as we attend local adoption celebrations this month and raise awareness for adoption.

In honor of National Adoption Awareness Month, we are thrilled to be able to offer half off the application fee during the month of November. Please spread the word with your friends and communities!
Orphan Sunday and Stand Sunday are coming November 7th!

This is the 20th year marking Orphan Sunday, a day for churches to commit to supporting vulnerable children around the world, and Stand Sunday, a day for churches to support children and families in the foster care system. There are many ways to support children and families beyond fostering and adopting, including providing respite care, giving towards family preservation, becoming a CASA, etc. Learn more here!
World Adoption Day is
November 9, 2021!

It’s a day to celebrate the power and beauty of family brought together through adoption. Join in this day by sharing your story, listening to adoptee voices, reflecting on your own adoption journey or connecting with those who have been touched by adoption. Show support for this celebratory day on social media by drawing a smiley face on your hand, snapping a selfie and posting it with a #worldadoptionday. Click here to learn more!
“If you could sit with your younger self for an hour or two, what advice would you give them?”
We invite you, MAA adoptee 16 or older, to participate in our 1st annual adult adoptee writing contest. We value your voice, and we would like to take this opportunity to hear from you, and share your words with the adoptive community. There is a $500 prize which will be awarded to the writer of the winning essay. It is required that the prize money be put towards your future educational and/or vocational endeavors (tuition, books, college applications, training workshops, etc), or towards exploration of your identity as an adoptee and/or your culture/heritage (homeland trips, conferences, etc).
GUIDELINES: In 1,000-1,250 words, please answer the question above. There are no requirements regarding the specific topic you choose to write about, but we ask that your essay, in whatever way you see fit, answers the question. The submission deadline is November 30, 2021.

Please email Sarah Hansen for participation information!

Families home in October!
If you are not in a position to adopt right now, but still feel compelled to help, please know that you can always make a donation directly to Madison Adoption Associates. Your generous gift will be directed where it is needed most, whether that be to provide food and medical services to vulnerable children both domestically and internationally, to support MAA’s growing therapeutic support services for adoptive and foster families, to help ease the financial burden for adoptive families, and/or many other areas where MAA serves deserving children. So please – consider making a tax-deductible donation today, so that children around the world may have a chance for a brighter tomorrow.
