WELCA board addresses finances, constitutional requirements and plans for a public apology

Women of the ELCA executive board members met October 17-18, 2025, in Chicago to examine the organization’s finances, consider constitutional changes, plan the upcoming 2026 Triennial Convention, discuss the implementing of the organization’s new strategic plan, and take a range of actions. November Boldcafe B.Y.O.D.

God loves a cheerful giver, because our cheer in giving reflects God’s own cheerful mercies. Can the biblical practice of gleaning be considered a class in Generosity 101? We will consider the enemies of generosity: Pharoah, the stingy boss, and the “religion” of Mammonism. Finally, we will turn to the little-noticed women who were generous with Jesus, and the wild generosity of the first Christian churches.
