The Nevada County Community Library presents the 3rd Annual Local Author Showcase - Virtually! - to celebrate Indie Author Day, Wednesday, November 4th through Saturday, November 7th. The purpose of the showcase is to link local authors with their audience and celebrate the wealth of writing talent in Nevada County and neighboring regions. The event will feature keynote speakers, panels, webinars and a Virtual Exhibit Hall for participating authors.

The showcase will begin with three evenings of webinars starting Wednesday November, 4th 2020 followed by a day of virtual events culminating in an address by the keynote speaker, Molly Fisk on Saturday, November 7th.

In November, educators, students, and parents are invited to join a two-part reading series with Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement, to discuss her memoir, When They Call You a Terrorist. The reading series will be moderated by Hannah Oliver Depp, owner of Loyalty Bookstores. Special guests include Asha Grant, owner of Salt Eaters Booksshop, in Los Angeles, and Black Lives Matter activist Tianna Arata. The events will take place from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm ET (11:00 am to 12 pm PT) on Thursday, November 5 and Thursday, November 19. The registration link for the series is available here.
