ER at University District available until Dec. 1

We want to make you and others in the community aware that the emergency room at PeaceHealth's University District campus in Eugene will be available until 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1.

If you or a loved one need emergency medical care after that time, our team is ready to serve you at PeaceHealth's RiverBend campus in Springfield. You may also seek care at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield or PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Community Medical Center in Cottage Grove. For life-threatening emergencies call 911.

Watch for details about the opening of an extended urgent care clinic in the University District next month. You may also review tips on where to get care to see available options when you need help.

Light up a Life

Are you grieving the death of a loved one? Please join us at the Light Up a Life ceremony at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, in the RiverBend hospital lobby. This is a special time to remember our loved ones during the holiday season through readings, music, the reading of names and the lighting of our Light Up a Life tree in the RiverBend lobby. Please submit your loved one's name to Sacred Heart Hospice by December 1. You may email [email protected]rg or call 458-205-7460.

Heart Walk & Talk

A free monthly walking group led by the heart-health experts at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute meets 3:30-4:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month. Mark your calendar to join us next month on the path behind the emergency department at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.

Free Diabetes Support Group 

Mark your calendar to join this group for people with diabetes and their support persons from 5-6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute’s demonstration kitchen in Springfield. For questions or to sign up, email [email protected]. 

Stroke Support Group

Life after a stroke isn't easy. Talking to others who have been through a stroke may help. Mark your calendar to join one or both of the support groups offered by PeaceHealth:

• First Wednesday of every month. This meeting offers various speakers and an opportunity to connect with other stroke survivors. 2-3:30 p.m. The group meets in person. (November meeting is cancelled.)
• Third Wednesday of every month. A social support meeting to share stories by stroke survivors and caregivers. 10:30 a.m.-noon. Currently, meeting virtually.
