Public Art Opportunities Abound 
REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS & PROPOSALS FOR SFO & BAYVIEW

SFO Terminal 3, Boarding Area E, Entrance Sculpture - We are seeking to purchase or commission a significant, museum caliber sculpture of the highest aesthetic quality to mark the entrance to Boarding Area E in Terminal 3. Bayview Gateway Public Art Project
The Port's Bayview Gateway Project will create a new one acre public open space along the southern bank of Islais Creek in San Francisco's south east waterfront. Our goal is to commission a large scale permanent signature artwork, which will represent the entry to the Bayview neighborhood. In the SFAC Galleries Window Installation Site is a spectacular new work by Sabine Reckewell, Dual Inclinations. This minimal work divides the large site into two intersecting planes through the application of rigidly stretched satin ribbon set. Although the work is simple in its individual components, the optical illusion created is both powerful and unsettling.

Kelly Ording's Windmills
New Public Artwork Coming to a Neighborhood Near You  
The SFAC will participate with the Recreation & Park department in two dedication events this month:

Palega Park reopening, featuring the unveiling of a new mosaic mural by Kelly Ording. ALSO, COMING SOON - new large-scale kinetic sculpture by Rebar Group.
WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, November 16, 11-1 p.m. at Felton and Holyoke streets

The Franklin Square Park community dedication event will celebrate the reinstallation of Brotherhood of Man, a 1968 mosaic mural by artist Anthony Stellon, which was a gift to the city from Mayor Joseph Alioto. WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, November 23, 10 a.m., at 16th & Bryant streets 

WritersCorps Teachers Honored   
Congratulations to WritersCorps Teaching Artist Harold Terez�n and former Teaching Artist Aja Couchois Duncan for receiving the San Francisco Foundation's 2013 Literary Award.  The caliber of the WritersCorps teaching artists is testament to the work done with nearly 1,000 students annually throughout San Francisco, and why we are excited to celebrate our 20th Anniversary in 2014. Stay tuned!
