Innovations in Nutrition Programs Conference

Innovations in Nutrition Programs and Services (INNU) grantees gathered for an annual conference this past summer. The theme was "Telling Your Story," and the goal was for grantees to learn how to deliver compelling messages about their projects through data, evaluation, storytelling and peer networking. Learn more about the conference in the conference recap.

Needs Assessment Results

Earlier this year, the Nutrition and Aging Resource Center and Iowa State University conducted a needs assessment across the aging nutrition network. With over 1,900 valid survey responses, the needs and wants of those working in the Older Americans Act Senior Nutrition Program were revealed. The results will drive the work done by the Nutrition and Aging Resource Center now and in the future.

OAA Quick Guide 2018 Highlights

The OAA guide was created to include fact sheets that serve as an introduction to the Older Americans Act and is designed to help those serving in any role.

Use the sheets in whichever way you choose – whether printing and hanging each in the office or using them as a training resource for staff. Each of the fact sheets is a good reminder of older adult health services, funding, and more.

For more information, consult the Overview of Older Americans Act Title III Programs: 2018 Summary of Highlights and Accomplishments document.

Congregate Meal Site Reopening Survey Conducted in November

The Nutrition and Aging Resource Center has partnered with the National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services Programs (NANASP) to conduct a survey of local senior nutrition providers and area agencies on aging about the status of successfully reopened congregate meal sites after the COVID-19 pandemic. The input from this survey will be used to develop webinars, trainings, and other resources and will be housed on the Nutrition and Aging Resource Center website in order to share best practices. Those involved in the partnership hope to collect a wide range of responses from different congregate meal sites across the country.

Please take this survey today!

Responses are due November 30.
